iPhone privacy notice

Privacy for the iPhone beta.

Effective September 19, 2026. This notice covers Style Finder’s internal TestFlight iPhone builds 1.0 (2) and 1.0 (3), operated by Zhilong Zhang in the United States. Build 1.0 (3) updates the interface; its functionality, permissions and data handling are unchanged.

Which app this notice covers

Customer Apple sign-in, in-app purchases and paid customer delivery are disabled in this build. The public website has a separate privacy notice. Signing into the website does not sign you into this app or sync its saved looks. Future native customer features require a new privacy review and updated notice before activation.

Photos you choose

The Photos picker receives only the image you select; it does not request access to your full photo library. The app resizes, corrects orientation and re-encodes the selected image as a JPEG without copying original metadata such as GPS fields. Camera use asks for camera permission.

Selecting a source or inspiration photo does not submit an AI request. Selected images stay in the current app session until you replace or clear them or the session ends.

Saved on this device

Style preferences are stored locally. Saving an outfit or look stores product information, dated prices, budget and search description where applicable, and any saved generated illustration in the app’s local database. Original input photos are not saved in the outfit list. Saved looks do not sync to a Style Finder cloud account.

Clearing app storage can remove saved looks. Exports and shared copies are handled separately by their chosen destination and remain outside the app’s deletion controls.

Optional AI processing

Where invitation-only beta access is available, choosing an AI action and giving permission sends the selected photo and styling request through Style Finder’s hosted service to OpenAI. A product preview also sends the chosen garment reference images. The complete submitted image, including its background, is shared; clothing-focused instructions do not remove background pixels.

The private-beta flow does not persist source or generated photo bytes on its server. You can choose to save generated results on your device. OpenAI may retain API data under its own data-handling policies; this notice does not promise zero provider retention. Having the TestFlight app does not establish that your beta access is connected.

Shopping search and images

An invitation-authorized shopping search sends the written direction, collection, category and budget to SerpApi for Google Shopping results, without a personal photo. The beta server keeps product-result snapshots associated with the beta invitation, including products, prices, collection and budget.

Snapshots are usable for one hour. Expiration is not immediate deletion: expired records are cleaned when a later search runs. The snapshot does not store the source photo or written search brief. Saved outfit lists on your device can include the search description.

Product and mood images can load from external image servers, which receive the connection information needed to deliver them. Shopping links open retailer or comparison services with their own privacy practices. Clothing purchases take place with those sellers.

Technical and usage records

The beta service retains request identifiers, invitation hashes, timestamps and allowance or quota reservations to control spending and prevent duplicate requests. Deleting local data does not erase that server usage history.

Hosting, search and AI providers handle technical connection and request information under their own practices. The app adds no advertising or analytics tracking SDKs. Apple separately operates TestFlight and handles testing and diagnostic information under Apple’s terms; this notice makes no zero-retention claim for Apple.

Your controls

In Settings, “Reset AI sharing permission” removes the app’s current permission for new AI sharing. “Clear my photos & preferences” removes current photo state, saved looks and local preferences. You can also remove individual saved looks.

These actions do not withdraw data already sent to providers or remove exports and recipient copies. This build does not create a Style Finder customer account, so there is no native customer account to close. Website account controls apply separately.

Privacy questions and help

For privacy questions, requests concerning retained beta records or help, email hello@xzhenergy.com with “Style Finder privacy” in the subject. Do not attach personal photos or payment details to your initial email.

We retain limited usage records needed for the beta’s allowance and replay safeguards. This notice does not promise a fixed deletion deadline.
